Privacy policy

Trimtab Labs is me, Lorin Symington. This page covers this website and the Second Brain Seed plugin for ChatGPT.
The short version
The plugin stores nothing about you. Your second brain lives on your own computer, not with me.
The ChatGPT plugin
- What it receives. When ChatGPT uses the plugin, it sends the few things you chose to share in the chat: what you want a second brain for, your line of work, and the names of your projects. Every field is optional.
- What it does with it. It uses that text once to shape your starter plan and sends the plan back. It does not save the text, write it to a log, or use it for anything else.
- What it never asks for. Your chat history, files, passwords, email address or location.
- No accounts, no tracking. There is no sign-in, no cookie and no analytics in the plugin.
- Hosting. The plugin runs on Cloudflare, the same host as this website. Like any host, Cloudflare may keep basic technical records of each request, such as the time and the address it came from, for a short period, under its own privacy policy.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. It is served by Cloudflare, which may keep basic technical records of each visit under its own privacy policy.
The Second Brain Seed
The Seed is free, open-source files you download from GitHub. Once set up, your second brain lives in a folder on your computer. The Seed has no tracking and sends nothing to me. I never receive a copy of your brain.
- Your AI tool. The coding agent you set it up with, such as Codex or Claude Code, reads your files under its maker's privacy policy, not this one.
- Optional extras. If you back up your brain to GitHub, or turn on the image tools (Google Gemini), those services receive what you send them, under their own policies.
Retention
The plugin keeps nothing, so there is nothing to delete. Technical records kept by Cloudflare follow its own retention periods.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, I will update this page and its date. Questions go through the support page.
